    FAQ's

How should I prepare for orientation?
Make sure you complete your New Student Checklist before Orientation. You should submit your photo for your UB card by Thursday, August 13 to pick up your card at orientation.

    What can I expect?

On Thursday, you'll hear from Jacobs School leadership and campus experts on how to start your program strong! During lunch, you'll have a chance to connect with other incoming students to get to know your new classmates. You'll finish the day chatting with current students at the Clubs & Community Expo.

On Friday, you'll meet with your program and departmental meetings and complete your required Lab Safety Training and Academic Integrity sessions.
In addition, our professional photographer will be on hand to take your professional headshot. This is a free courtesy offered to incoming students, and photos may be used on websites or for personal use. Make sure to dress professionally for these photos (feel free to bring a change of clothes if you prefer to be more comfortable for your earlier sessions!).

We can't wait to see you there!

I have a dietary restriction. Will I have options for lunch on Thursday?
We will have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-sensitive options available for Thursday's lunch. Note that catering will be provided by off-campus vendors, so we cannot guarantee the lack of cross-contamination.
